In The Name
Here we come in the name
of the Father
And of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
With praise on our lips and love in our hearts,
With contrition we bow in Your presence.
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
And cleanse us from all our transgressions.
Here we come in the name
of the Father
And of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
With praise on our lips and love in our hearts,
With contrition we bow in Your presence.
With contrition we bow in Your presence.
With contrition we bow....

STORY BEHIND THIS SON...
A simple call to worship or entrance hymn,
if you will.
We (not I) come as a congregation, as
the people of God, to worship the Holy Trinity with praise,
love, reverence, and contrition for our sins.
The song, like the holy Mass, starts out
in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
That, in conjunction with the reference to bowing, calls
to mind images of making the sign of the cross and kneeling
upon entrance into the Sanctuary. It then proceeds to the
Kyrie--Lord have mercy.
What an awesome privilege it is to be
able to come before the presence of the Lord, sinful and
unworthy as we are. Praise God for His infinite mercy and
love.
